Janet Todd had worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years and retired when she was vice president human resources/communications for Gambro Healthcare. Janet has her Master’s of Business Administration and Master’s of Exercise Physiology degree from the University of Pittsburgh.  In 2004, she moved to St. Helena from Denver, Colorado. Janet thought she had reached her full potential in the male dominated for-profit corporate world of global healthcare. She didn’t realize that potential was limitless until she leapt into starting Girls on the Run Napa Valley in 2006, a non-profit young girl’s empowerment program with three other St. Helena women.

Girls on the Run creatively combines experiential life skill curriculum with running or moving it to empower the girls to believe in themselves and their dreams. GOTR Napa & Solano has served over 7,000 since 2006.

She one of the strategic team leaders and member of the Coalition of Community Leaders (Up Valley) and is a proud member of Soroptimist International St. Helena Sunrise. She was selected as the recipient for Excellence in Leadership in 2016 at the heart of Napa Awards by the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership and was awarded the St. Helena Citizen of the Year in 2017.
