What began as a training ground for women living in poverty in the barrios of Peru, has evolved into a women’s clothing brand named, Moche Lifestyle. Moche’s hand-created, fine alpaca knits are now sold in boutiques throughout the US. Terisa Brooks-Huddleston, the owner began this business journey 8 years ago after a trip to Peru.

Seeing how the lack of work had produced multiple economic strains and allowed the mothers to be taken advantage of, the risk of trafficking was great. By creating an “upstream” advantage with and for the women, Moche has been able to focus on combating this problem.
